Alpha Beta Gamma provides a number of benefits to both the academic and business communities, as well as to member students. We've created a short list of these benefits here.

The three ideals, followed by the preamble, combine to guide all our decisions and activities.

Preamble

That academic excellence among community, junior and technical college students enrolled in a business curricula may be nurtured, that opportunity may be provided for leadership training and an intellectual climate for ideas and ideals be fostered; and that scholars may be imbued with desire for continuing education, we dedicate ourselves as members of Alpha Beta Gamma®. Among us, membership is a privilege earned by qualifications, honor and service. In the conduct of our activities, truth shall be our quest, diligence our staff, and achievement our purpose.

Alpha Beta Gamma

Alpha Beta Gamma® is an International Business Honor Society established in 1970 to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students in business curricula. To achieve this goal, Alpha Beta Gamma® provides leadership opportunities, forums for the exchange of ideas and the stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence. Since its founding , over 58,000 students from accredited community, junior, and technical colleges have been initiated in the Society. Alpha Beta Gamma® is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies, and an affiliate member of both the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and The Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC).

Alpha Beta Gamma International Business Honor Society is the sole business honor society for accredited junior, community and technical two year colleges. The society exists to recognize and reward academic excellence among business honor students and to recognize the contribution to learning and business of professionals. In 1998 the constitution was amended to accept business honor students from Mexico and Canada.

The society is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies, is a participating institute in the Association of Canadian Community College Affiliates Network (Membre participant au Reseau d'Affilies Internationaux de L'ACCC, and educational affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). The society was founded in 1970 and currently has over 58,000 members.

Alpha Beta Gamma

Blue Ridge Community College

Founded in 1967, Blue Ridge Community College, Exit 235, I-81, Weyers Cave, VA 24486, has served the residents of the central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia for over 30 years. Its comprehensive program of instruction includes associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in occupational/technical and college/university transfer programs. The College also provides non-credit workforce training and special interest classes for individuals, business, and industry.
